Energy Awareness Training
Working with experts from Global Action Plan, we have developed a training programme for staff throughout the company. This looks at how we as individuals use energy, at work and at home, and underlines the importance of energy conservation. It involves all employees in finding ways to reduce, re-use and recycle waste, and use energy wisely.

A number of staff (pictured above) have also completed an energy awareness qualification, which enables them to provide expert advice on energy efficiency issues and solutions, including domestic appliances and household heating systems.

We are the Champions
Our Environmental Champions are constantly looking for ways to reduce waste and save energy at Guernsey Electricity. Their aim is to bring about real change that can deliver measurable improvements in the way that we operate. It follows an audit of our operations in 2008, to identify priority areas and training requirements, after which a team of volunteers from across the company was assembled to develop initiatives and drive them forward. Already they have made a marked difference, which is evident in some significant environmental achievements throughout Guernsey Electricity.
