Global climate change has the potential to impact on us all, wherever we live, so everyone has a role to play in tackling this threat. At Guernsey Electricity we also recognise that, as a power company, we have a responsibility to show leadership in this area, and are in a unique position to enable islanders to make real change for themselves. Of course we have a duty to reduce the impact our own operations have on the environment, however our commitment goes much further. It means investing in technologies that can provide cleaner, greener energy; promoting more efficient and sustainable electricity use; and delivering products and services that can reduce the island's reliance on fossil fuels.

This commitment is demonstrated by our Green Enterprise initiative, which provides a focus for Guernsey Electricity's environmental activities as well as the means by which we can deliver these goals.


Our green commitment is to minimise the environmental impact of our business, to be pro-active in providing energy efficient solutions for the community, and to investigate alternative sources of energy that could make a viable contribution to the island's electricity needs.
